The Legacy Apartment Buildings are a new building typology developed for Lindsey Management Company in partnership with Gene George and the George family. First introduced at the Trails at the Crossings in Springdale, the designs respond to demand for an elevated apartment product and have become a prototype used across Lindsey developments.

Client goal
A new direction for apartment living.
The design responded to changing market expectations and a desire to expand Lindsey’s product offering with additional amenities. Developed in partnership with Lindsey and Gene George and the George family, the new typology paired functional improvements with cosmetic upgrades to offer an elevated apartment experience.
Design response
Amenities built into everyday life.
Split floor plans, private exterior patios or decks for every unit, and enclosed interior corridors with controlled access defined the new design direction. These features, together with cosmetic upgrades, responded to residents’ expectations for a more complete residential product.
Lasting impact
From first iteration to a company prototype.
The buildings attracted strong interest from their introduction at the Trails at the Crossings. The Trails at the Crossings I & II total 835 apartments. Their success established the Legacy building types as Lindsey’s prototype for subsequent developments, including Vantage Center North, extending the design’s influence across the company’s apartment portfolio.
First application · Trails at the Crossings
An elevated product, inside and out.
At the Trails at the Crossings, the one- and two-bedroom apartments pair private outdoor space with granite countertops, stainless steel kitchen appliances, and full-size washers and dryers. Shared amenities include a clubhouse, fitness and business centers, a swimming pool, putting green, pickleball and cornhole courts, and a dog park. Located at 6200 Watkins Avenue in Springdale, the community is near the Northwest Arkansas Naturals ballpark and I-49.
